Last week the wonderful folk behind the Hidden Spaces project asked me if I'd like to join them for a sneaky visit to the clock tower above Birmingham Council House followed by the underground tunnel from New Street station to the Mailbox...hell yes I would like to! I've decided to blog the two visit separately, starting with the tower, which was fascinating. We got to see the clock machinery (which dates from 1885) before going ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP and be rewarded with a 360 vista over this great city. Total wowzers.
Here's a few snaps from my visit to the tower - check back here soon for snaps from the tunnel. Huge thanks to the Hidden Spaces team for inviting me along and to Paul from the Council for being an excellent guide!
